Akwa Ibom State College of Nursing Sciences is now accepting applications for its Basic Midwifery Programme starting September 2023. Registration runs from 28th August to 15th September 2023, exclusively at the College's Ikot Ekpene campus. Applicants must have specified qualifications and the registration fees vary for indigenes and non-indigenes.





The Akwa Ibom State College of Nursing Sciences has officially initiated the sale of admission forms for qualified candidates into their Basic Midwifery Programme. Registration Dates and Venue
Schedule for Registration

Registration for the aforementioned programme will take place from Monday, 28th August to Saturday, 15th September 2023. The institution will be welcoming candidates for registration daily between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., excluding public holidays and weekends.
Designated Location

The College of Nursing Sciences in Ikot Ekpene will serve as the singular venue for all registration activities. No alternative locations are currently designated for this purpose.
Qualification Requirements
Essential Educational Qualifications

The qualifications acceptable for admission encompass WASSCE, GCE, NECO, and NABTEB. Candidates must have secured credits in English Language, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Mathematics. The credits should not be scattered over more than two academic sittings.
Special Note on NABTEB

It is critical to note that NABTEB certificates cannot be combined with any other educational credentials. They are to stand alone in the application process.
Fee Structure for Registration and Processing
Fees for Different Categories

The financial obligations differ depending on the applicant’s status as an indigene or non-indigene of the region:Indigenes: A registration fee of N5,000 and a processing fee of N8,000.
Non-Indigenes: A registration fee of N7,000 and a processing fee of N9,000.

Additional costs include a Nursing and Midwifery committee fee of N500 and a customised file fee of N500.
Total Expenditure

Thus, the overall fees to be submitted are N14,000 for indigenes and N17,000 for non-indigenes.
Pre-Requisites for Registration Submission
Mandatory Documentation

The following are obligatory:Three recent colour passport photographs.
Original and two photocopies of each of the following:Educational certificates: FSLC, WASSCE, GCE, NECO, and NABTEB
Birth certificate or age declaration
Certificate of Local Government of origin
Change of name certificate (if applicable)
Age Limit

Candidates must be 16 years and above to qualify for the programme.
Entrance Examination Details

The entrance examination is scheduled for Saturday, 16th September 2023. The venue for this essential screening will be Aka Community Secondary School, Aka Offot, Uyo.
