FUD Postgraduate Admission Prerequisites
Postgraduate Diploma:Graduates from FUD or other recognised tertiary institutions with a minimum Third Class degree.
Possessors of Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least a Lower Credit in pertinent fields.
In unique situations, HND holders with a minimum of Lower Credit in non-related disciplines may be considered, provided they pass set tests by the relevant Department/Faculty.
Those with other acceptable qualifications, as approved by the Postgraduate School Board and University Senate.
Additionally, applicants must meet the university’s matriculation requirements.
Masters Degree (Academic and Professional):Graduates from FUD or recognised institutions with at least a Second Class (Hons.) Bachelor Degree or equivalent, or those with a university degree and an appropriate postgraduate diploma.
Those with unclassified degrees, possessing an average of “C” or 50% or higher, may need to take qualifying tests.
Bachelor degree holders in the Third Class division coupled with a relevant Postgraduate Diploma.
HND possessors with at least a credit standing and a credit in Postgraduate Diploma in relevant areas.
Candidates with other qualifications endorsed by the Postgraduate School Board and University Senate.
Additionally, they must adhere to FUD’s matriculation standards.
Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.):FUD graduates or from other notable institutions with a solid Masters degree in the relevant field (minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5-point scale or 2.50 on a 4-point scale).
Holders of a Masters degree in a related discipline, meeting the CGPA requirements.
Candidates with qualifications endorsed by the Postgraduate School Board and University Senate.
Furthermore, they should fulfil the university’s matriculation prerequisites.
Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD):Masters degree holders from FUD or recognised institutions, aligned with CGPA requirements in the relevant study areas.
Candidates possessing an M.Phil. in the related speciality.
Professional Masters degree holders with a Bachelor’s in the Second Class Lower Division or above.
Candidates with qualifications ratified by the Postgraduate School Board and University Senate.
Potential PhD candidates who meet all criteria, excluding CGPA, may be considered for the M.Phil./PhD programme if they have at least a 3.00 CGPA.
