Kwara State Polytechnic – After the decision to build a polytechnic in Kwara State was made in 1971, Col. David Bamigboye, then the military governor of Kwara State, established the Kwara State Polytechnic in 1973. Ilorin, Kwara State’s capital, is where it is situated.
The Kwara State Polytechnic in Ilorin, Kwara State, has received official accreditation and/or recognition from the Nigerian National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
What to Know About the Kwara State Polytechnic
One of Nigeria’s finest polytechnics is Kwara State Polytechnic. The institution was founded in 1973, and since then, it has consistently provided education of a caliber that has won it a reputation across Africa.
Students from across the nation can now easily reach the polytechnic because of its advantageous location. Additionally, The institution was started by Col. David Bamigboye, who was Kwara State’s military governor at the time.
Around 110 students attended the polytechnic when it first opened its doors in 1973. The institution currently provides a range of programs, including ND and HND.
There are both full-time and part-time programs offered. As a result, the operation of the school is flexible and dynamic, and different types of students may easily choose the options they prefer.
Even if the university may brag about having standard educational facilities and a welcoming learning environment, there is still much that can be done to enhance the immediate and surrounding environment of the lecture halls.
Kwara Polytechnic, in contrast to many state polytechnics, maintains a relatively regular academic schedule with few interruptions.

Kwara Poly Entry Requirements for HND Programmes
Candidates for admission to the HND programs must meet the requirements listed below:Five applicable O/L credit passes in WASC, GCE, NECO, and NABTEB in no more than two sittings, together with a National Diploma (ND) with at least a Lower Credit in the relevant area. These credit passes must also cover math and the English language.
Proof of one year’s relevant experience (such as industrial training) after receiving a National Diploma (ND)
Candidates who have received a passing grade on their national diploma (ND) are required to have at least two years of post-ND industrial experience.
The following National Diploma (ND) programs are required for applicants to Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering Technology (Post-Harvest Technology option): Examples of agricultural engineering technology include agricultural technology, agricultural and bioenvironmental engineering technology, food science and technology, and agricultural engineering technology.
Candidates for metallurgical engineering technology need to have a national diploma in the field.
A National Diploma in Mineral Resources or Mining Engineering Technology is also required for applicants to the Mining Engineering Technology program.
Graduates of ND Computer Engineering are however not accepted into the HND Computer Science and Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology programs.
Candidates won’t be allowed to enroll in HND programs that are different from their ND degrees.
Holders of an ND in mass communication are not eligible to pursue an HND in public administration.
ND applicants who wish to pursue an HND full-time must include the jamb registration numbers used for those programs. However, Only applicants with valid Jamb registration numbers will be given consideration for admission.
Kwara Poly ND Part-Time Daily Programs Admission PrerequisitesCandidates for Part-Time National Diploma (ND) programs must possess a minimum of five O/L credits in pertinent topics from the SSCE, GCE, NECO, and NABTEB in no more than two sittings.
English and math credit passes are required of all applicants seeking admission to any program at the Polytechnic. Additionally, the other three themes must be connected to the study program.
