List of Music Scholarships
Many organizations and colleges provide music scholarships and bursaries to students of various disciplines, so you don’t have to be studying for a music degree to qualify.

1. The EDUFI Fellowship
The EDUFI Fellowship is specifically designed to provide beginning financing for research for a doctoral thesis to be conducted in Finland.
Doctoral students or young researchers from outside Finland studying in a Finnish university department may be eligible for initial financing toward the completion of a doctoral research project in Finland, the completion of a double degree, or a study visit.
Eligibility Criteria
You are liable for the fellowship grant if you:
1. You are a professor or researcher at a Finnish university.
2. You’ll be the host for the research associate
3. By committing to shared goals with the research fellow
4. You’ll provide resources and tools for the research fellow to use.
5. You will supervise the research.
A young researcher or postgraduate student from a country other than Finland who you want to welcome to Finland or who has resided in Finland for no more than a year prior to applying for the fellowship may submit a fellowship application.
The EDUFI Fellowship is open to all international students across all academic disciplines.
Application Deadline
The fellowship grant is open for applications at all times. Please submit the application to us at least five months prior to the fellowship’s anticipated start date.
Three months or so will be needed to complete the application. Typically, 35 to 40 percent of applications are accepted each year. The university department of the applicant will get the selections.
The following paperwork is required by fellows in order to apply for a visa or residence permit.
• A duplicate of the EDUFI fellowship award letter
• Invitation from the host university department
2. Holland-High Potential Scholarship
For exceptionally gifted students from outside the European Union (EU) who have been admitted to a master’s program, the Maastricht University (UM) Holland-High Potential Scholarship program gives 24 full scholarships of €30,000 per academic year.
The scholarship program consists of two types of awards: the Holland Scholarship, which is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science in collaboration with Dutch universities and universities of applied sciences, and the High Potential Scholarship, which is funded by the Maastricht University Scholarship Fund.
It is open to international students from outside the EU/EEA who want to pursue a full-degree program in the Netherlands.
Eligibility Criteria
All applicants must meet these requirements:
1. You meet the requirements for getting an entry visa and residence permit for the Netherlands and have nationality from a nation outside the EU/EEA, Switzerland, or Surinam.
2. You do not possess dual citizenship with an EU or EA country.
3. For the academic year 2023–2024, you must have applied for admission to Maastricht University’s participating full-time master’s program.
4. You are eligible for admission to the particular UM master’s program to which you have applied.
5. You have never taken part in a higher education program in the Netherlands that leads to a degree. The application process is open to students who have participated in exchange programs in the Netherlands.
6. On September 1, 2023, you will not be older than 35.
7. You have obtained excellent results during your prior education programs, as demonstrated by your latest grade transcript or by academic excellence.
UM will give precedence to applicants whose academic records or certified letters of academic excellence show that they are in the top 5% of 2023–2024 scholarship program applicants if many applicants are equally qualified.

After submitting your application through Studielink, you will be given a University of Michigan student ID number. To fill out and submit the scholarship application form, you must have a student number.

3. Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship
The Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship program was created by the government of Hungary to promote the internationalization of Hungarian higher education and to attract top international students from all over the world who can strengthen their relationships with Hungary on a personal and professional level while continuing to pursue a top-notch education in the center of Europe.
The graduates can establish connections on the civic, political, and economic levels when they return to their home countries with marketable skills and knowledge, strengthening Hungary’s reputation and international recognition.
Application Procedure
All submissions must also be submitted using the Tempus Public Foundation’s online application process. Additionally, after signing up, applicants can access the application system and upload the necessary files.

4. Kazakhstan Government Scholarships
For full-time study in Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. educational programs, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan invites applications from international students, including those of Kazakh nationality who are not citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Scholarships allocations:
• Bachelor’s degree program: 490
• Ph.D. program: 10
• Master’s program: 50
5. Fully Funded MEXT Japan Scholarships
The Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT) is providing this scholarship in an effort to increase national competitiveness and promote active exchange between international students attending Japanese universities.
Applicants need to submit an APU application before being evaluated for this award. The scholarship organization will then get recommendations from APU for suitable individuals. Outstanding overseas students who are recommended by APU are given this scholarship.
Scholarship Awards:
• Full admission fee
• A 100% of tuition (covered by the APU Tuition Reduction Scholarship)
• 144,000 JPY per month for living expenses (amount subject to change)
• Economy class air travel between the home country and APU at the beginning and end of the program
Eligibility Requirements
• Intend to study abroad in Japan
• Must be a national of a MEXT-designated country
• Be born on or after April 2, 1988
• Have achieved a GPA of at least 2.30 on a 3.00 scale at their most recent university

6. Henry and Aleida Segger Music Scholarship
The Henry and Aleida Segger Music Scholarship at King’s University in Alberta, Canada, is available to both domestic and international students in 2023.
The grant permits students to enroll in King’s University undergraduate music programs. Also $1,000 scholarship is given out by The King’s University each year to a full-time student.
The student must be enrolled in either a performance or artist diploma program or a Bachelor of Music degree program.
Students must submit a brief video (three to five minutes) or appear in person for an audition showcasing their musical performance skills, as well as have an average of 80% or higher on their high school entrance exams or maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 or higher.
Eligibility Criteria
• Students must have the required 3.0 GPA as well as an average of 80% or higher on their high school entrance exams
• Students must be international students.
